3 Secrets to Looking & Feeling Younger! (and staying that way)

First of all, I'm here to tell you that you are already beautiful and beauty starts from within. Blah, blah, blah. But you don't want to hear that right?

Well, honestly, you probably won't want to hear what I have to say below either then. Because feeling and looking great isn't something you can decide to do one morning. It takes commitment and it takes time. I'm here to tell you the 3 things you need to do in order to be pretty, but it's a lifestyle change. So if you're looking for a quick coverup, you're not going to find that here. But please, stick around if you're open to treating yourself to a healthier (prettier) you.

If you don't start caring for yourself now, you will be very upset with yourself in just a few years. Did you know that 70% of aging is voluntary? That means that you don't have to age the way you see everyone else aging. That means you can be 65 and still feel like a 45 year old. I know you've seen women out there that don't seem to age, and if it's not Botox, it just may be these 3 secrets.

Did you also know that not only do you have 70% control over the aging process, but you also have 50% control over whether or not you get a serious illness? And 70% of deaths that happen before the age of 80 are life-style related! But that another post for another day.

As for aging, yes, we are all going to age. There are physiological aspects that we cannot control. For example, our skin is going to get weird, as will our hair. Our hearts will change, and unfortunately we will all go through the aging process of looking older. But we can shorten that time by taking care of ourselves, and we can take such good care of ourselves that we never actually feel as old as we are (even when we eventually start looking it).

The choice is yours. Will you commit to treating yourself better? Because you deserve it.

If you're not feeling at your prime right now, these 3 changes will help you feel and look better than you have in years. I'm not going to lie to you, age will eventually catch up, but that doesn't mean you will wake up suddenly looking old one day. It just means that you will hit a peak of perfection and then you'll plateau a little, until you are slowly forced to continue aging (but that won't come until much farther down the line if you do things right). If you don't lead a life in the ways described below, regular aging will catch up to you quickly & unpleasantly.

Secret #1 - Exercise

Exercise is one of the most important things we can do for ourselves daily. And I'm not talking about 20 squats and calling it a day. It needs to be hard exercise.

You should be aiming for:

Exercise 6 days a week

Strength training/weights 2-3 days a week

Exercising is the first most important thing to keeping your body beautiful.

Secret #2 - Nutrition

Nutrition is another big factor. We're not talking about diets, those aren't healthy for you. We are talking about eating your nutrients. You know how you say, "I probably shouldn't eat this"? Well, then, maybe you shouldn't. This isn't difficult in the "rules" sense of things. There are no rules like, 'eat only during an 8 hour window', or 'make sure you don't eat more than 30g of carbs a day'. The only rule that matters here is, if you think something is bad for you, like... let's say... fast food... then don't eat it! Get the rid of the excess fats and the simple carbs that add no nutritional value to your life.

And here's another tip; just eat less. You don't need to be stuffing your face and finishing everything on your plate every time you eat. It's okay to let yourself get a little hungry. Eat until you are satisfied and let that be that. The obsession with food is what is killing us (literally).

A note about alcohol: Since this may make or break the commitment to this "new" lifestyle for many of you out there. Alcohol is fine in moderation. A glass or two of wine every night is fine, but try not to drink more than that. And if you're not a nightly drinker, there is absolutely no reason to start.

Secret #3 - Commitment

I'm not just talking about committing to a healthy lifestyle (although, you will commit to that too, won't you?). But here's a fun fact; committing yourself to people and hobbies you love will make you a younger more beautiful person. Get involved with people (and things) you care about.

Some examples may include:

Your family


People at your church

Your job

Your favorite hobbies


If you don't have something that your committed to and passionate about, life will get dark quick. You need to find someone or something that you care about. It honestly doesn't matter how big or how little that thing is. If it matters to you, that's all that counts. It's okay if people think it's silly, or if it ends up costing you money (within reason). As long as it gives you a reason to live and as long as you are passionate about it, that's what matters. Find something you can focus your attention on, and you will stay young & beautiful. I know it sounds silly, but the evidence is out there. People need a reason to live, and if they can't find a reason to live... they'll die.
