For the past few years, a lot of people have started working from home. Some have since went back to work, while others work from home (part-time, or full time). There are also a lot of people who didn't go back to work, and who've decided to start a new business on their own. If that's you, congrats!
But as you're probably now starting to realize, working from home isn't always as easy as it seems. There are SO many distractions (more so if you have kids). In order to keep those distractions at bay, you need to plan them into your day. Yup, you heart me. Plan your distractions into your day.
If you want to be a successful work-at-home mom, a daily routine is a must. Sticking to a schedule will help you be more productive & organized, and it will also help your mind de-stress and unwind when the day is done.
I've been a work-from-home mom for almost 10 years now! There have been times where I just couldn't focus on work because... laundry! It's staring right at me. And I need to call the dentist, and the cat threw up, and what's that smell coming from the fridge? I should get to that right away! Next thing you know, the day is done and I've got next to nothing done work-wise. But oh well, there's always tomorrow, right? Until tomorrow comes.
Once I started a schedule and stuck to it though, my mind was able to relax and focus on work, instead of fixating on the fact that "I need to call the allergist for an appointment!" I knew that I would have time to do that without compromising work-time.
So here is my very own work schedule. Just print it and hang it by your desk! I hope it works for you!
