Feminine Beauty - A Guide to Always Being Ready for Last Minute Plans
I'm always striving to be a feminine woman. I want to always look primped and proper for my man (or anyone I encounter). Should I be asked out on a last minute date, I want to be able to say, "Yes!" without worrying about if I need to shave or how to get rid of this pimple on my face in under one hour!
Wouldn't it be great if we could:
Find a beauty routine that would always keep us looking and feeling our best
Find a beauty routine that we could fit into our busy schedules
Well, the good news is that you can! When you focus on just one part of your body just once a week, you will always be ready to accept last minute invitations without stress.
In today's world we are always trying to find shortcuts and last minute coverups. What if, instead of taking the lazy "easy" way out, we gave ourselves just 30 minutes a day of self-care and took care of our bodies properly? I know 30 minutes sounds like a lot, but don't you deserve to give yourself 30 minutes of self-care? How many minutes a day do you give to your boss? How about your kids? Your husband? Your cats even?!
Giving yourself 30 minutes a day will pay off in the long run. Because when we feel good about ourselves, we are happier and we are more fun to be around.
Apply a face & neck mask
Start out by cleansing your face, then apply your favorite mask to both your face and your neck. So many of us forget about our neck, but that's just as important as our face! If we don't pay attention to our neck, our necks will age, while our faces stay looking young and radiant. Follow the instructions on your mask, and be sure to stay away from your eyes! Do this once a week and you will feel and see a noticeable difference in your skin.
My favorite mask - New York Biology Dead Sea Mud Mask for Face and Body, $16.95
This mask is one of the best one out there and comes highly recommended. It's great for all skin types, including people with cystic acne. Adding this to your routine will ensure your skin stays acne-free & super soft.
Give yourself a pedicure
Whether you want to go get one done at the salon or give one to yourself, it's important we give our feet some love. We're on our feet all day working, cleaning, cooking, and running after kids, so it's important we pay some attention to them as well. Take today to remove old polish, file your toenails (in a straight line so that you don't get an ingrown nail or poke holes through your socks!), and then give them a fresh coat of polish. After you're done painting your toenails, roll your foot over a tennis ball or warm water bottle to massage your feet and stretch out your tendons.
My favorite foot massager - Nekteck Foot Massager with Heat, $42.49
This warming massager has been known to help tired, aching feet. It hits every part of the base of your feet, no matter how high (or low) your arch is.
Wax and pluck
If you don't want to go through the hassle of shaving your legs on a daily basis, try waxing or some other form of hair removal once a week. You should do this not only on your legs, but under your arms as well. Use tweezers to pluck any stray hairs around your eyebrows, but be sure you don't over pluck! Apply some soothing gel once the job is done.
My favorite waxing kit - Waxing Kit Wax Warmer Hair Removal with Hard Wax Beans, $49.99
This wax kit is great for sensitive skin and (depending on your hair type), you may be able to go longer than a week without having to wax again.
Apply a hair masque
Your hair needs tome TLC too. Washing, drying and/or dying it frequently can leave your hair dry and brittle. So after you given your scalp a nice massage while washing it (this will stimulate healthy, new hair growth), apply a masque for the allotted time, rinse well, and then let it air dry. Get into the habit of washing your brush weekly too. The oils that can get trapped on your brush isn't good to be redistributed through clean hair.
My favorite hair masque - SheaMoisture Jamaican Black Castor Oil Treatment Masque For Dry Hair, $10.49
This masque is a must. It's great for all hair types and will keep dyed hair looking fresh. It also helps control frizz, keep hair smooth, and will leave your hair smelling amazing.
Give yourself a manicure
A manicure is a must if you want to want to look primped and polished. Take today to go get a manicure at the salon, or do it yourself. If you do it yourself, be sure to shape your nails, push back your cuticles, and then add a base coat followed by two coats of color and a long lasting top coat. Be careful not to smudge!
My favorite top coat - OPI Nail Polish Top Coats, $10.49
This top polish is one of the better ones. It will help your manicure last longer while preventing any chipping. It's nice and thick and helps your nails dry quicker. Once dry, your nails will feel smooth and professionally done.
You've done enough, pretty lady. It's time to take the weekend to relax and enjoy all the hard work you've done throughout the week. If you have any minor touch-ups you need to do, feel free to keep on top of them. However, for the most part, you will have saved hours worth of "beautifying" yourself by doing a little here and there throughout the week. Now if your man suggests you go out on a whim, you can confidently go throw that dress on and feel your sexiest!
If you are a feminine woman who believes in always looking and feeling her best for both herself and her man, this routine is perfect for you. You can primp yourself during the week while he's at work, and then look naturally beautiful on the weekends when he's home with you. No need to share the nitty gritty, unappealing beauty secrets with your man. All he knows is that your legs are always smooth, your hair is always silky, and when he massages your feet, they're always looking welt kept and freshly polished.
