"We hold these truth to be self-evident: That all men and women are created equal."
But do we live equal lives? Not at all. We all differ in willpower, motivation, and within our daily habits. Our efforts are what sets us apart from each other. God granted us the freedom to think and act for ourselves, but how we think and act is what either frees us or chains us to what's holding us from our fullest potential.
Do you ever think, 'I know I'm meant to do more, so why am I stuck where I am?'
We are all capable of doing great things, but our days are exhausting, the kids are jumping into our bed in what seems like just hours after we finally got into bed ourselves. By the time we get through our days of getting things ready for school, cooking, cleaning, piano lessons, dinner, homework, bath time, and then bedtime routines, we're thinking, 'I'll start tomorrow'. Yet, during those same days we are distracted by the endless scrolling down our social media pages. We claim it's just to get ideas to become a better person and that we'll eventually start tomorrow, but it's really us just cowering in the corner believing we're not good enough. Other's are prettier, smarter, more successful and with a better support system. Trust me, I get it. I'm single mom with her own business who struggles with self confidence issues, but that's no excuse. I'm telling that to you and me, both!
But ladies (and men if you're reading), we NEED to get out of this prison we've built around ourselves. It's time for us to grow and I'm here to do it right along side you. There's a personal power within us that is begging to be unleashed.
And do you know what hold us back from reaching our fullest potential?
But we are powerful, and we cannot let the world forget that. Stop with the self-oppression's. Stop with letting society control you. It is your duty to stand apart and lead yourself and others to greatness.
The past few years have taken a toll on most all of us, but we cannot use that as an excuse anymore. You are given every right and opportunity as the next guy for a chance at happiness. But we need to stop relying on others. We need to see that our fate is only between us and God. So you can stay trapped where you are, or choose a change.
You may not know what change you are in need of just yet, but the first step to discovering that is to stop doubting yourself. Sit down and set clear intentions. Figure out what your standards are; in all areas of life, and don't settle for less. Stop letting your loud friends and family dictate who you are and what you should be doing with your life. Choosing your own path is the only way to personal freedom.
This moment is very important. Stop wishing you were somewhere else or with someone else, doing something else. Stop living in the past or in someone else's present. We sometimes feel so young and think we have our whole life to "fix ourselves". But that life goes fast. Never stop living in the present because tomorrow is never promised, and when tomorrow comes, you will look back and wonder how so much time passed by with just the blink of an eye. It's time to stop being numb and to start feeling again.
Think about who you want to be.
Set your intentions, and start living again. With full awareness.
We all want freedom, we just need to act on it.
